Early morning again, but I managed to sleep in until 5am. Showered and remembered I didn't have any soap and realized I forgot to pack a towel. Also, the hostel I was in didn't seem to have central heating, so I was quite chill.
Made the ferry safe and sound. It was much larger and much nicer than I thought. I hung out on deck a fair amount and sampled the Benson Block Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc which was nice to sip while I covered some space in my personal log. No, it's not a diary :P. After landing in Picton, I stopped at the Picton Village Bakkerijj (sp?) and had some sort of Hawaiian pizzabread - long flatbread with pineapple, ham and cheese, as well as some sort of doughnut - a light roll split lengthwise on top and filled with a pastry cream. They had some sort of sweet named after Boston, but I have a sneaking suspision the name was the only link with the town.
Made the bus to Christchurch just fine and had just a couple minute walk to my hostel. The room is a bit more cramped, but it has plenty of heat and amenities to be nice. I'm a little hungry so I may find something to eat. Got a few pictures, but I don't know if I can put them on here any way easily. I suppose you'll have to wait until tomorrow when I get down to Queenstown with Josh.
I'm sure there's more to say, but I'm tired and I've only 3 minutes left. Enjoy yourselves America. This is Brock Hutchinson, signing off.

Hey honey. I'm glad you got to your next destination alright. It's 11:05 AM on the 20th in Michigan, but, I'm in Chicago, so it's 10:05 AM. :) I'm excited to see your pictures when you get them up. You'll finally get to see Josh and Beth today, yay! I know you will have a lot of fun. Thanks for the update...love you lots!
Glad you made it to Christchurch and your hostel ok. It's been great that you've been able to update us all so much while you're traveling. Otherwise we might be worrying. ;^) And what IS your personal log? Where are you finding computer access? Are there like internet cafes where you pay for 30 min of time or something?
Glad you didn't have to walk much. Guess you can buy a towel and soap pretty cheaply. But it's a pain to remember you don't have a towel when you're already in the shower.
Nice hot weather here. Sunny. Great! Little rainstorm yesterday. Is it getting cold there yet?
"Also, the hostel I was in didn't seem to have central heating, so I was quite chill."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
Okay, I will stop laughing and clue you in to a little New Zealand secret... they don't believe in heating.
We have been to that bakery in Picton. It is yum. See you soon.
Wow, you're making all the connections like clockwork. I'm impressed! And, like Dad said, it's reassuring, too. :-) You're on the last, long leg of this marathon to Queenstown. Just a couple more hours and you'll see people you know!!! And can stop lugging you load. They don't call it "luggage" for nothing!
What?!?! New Zealanders don't believe in heating?!?!?! How can that possibly be . . . so close to Antarctica?!?! XOXOX
WHERE IN THE WORLD ARE JON AND JOSH??!?? We thought we'd hear from you by now, but alas! Dad and I are about to get in the car and make our own trek . . . to Iowa. We probably won't be checking email til . . . Sunday? Monday? And, of course, we can't reach each other (very easily that I know of) by phone. So . . . here's to happy, safe, fun, memorable travels for all four of us! TTYS! XOXOXOX
